The idea for Blue Blood Brewing Company came from the vision of Brian Podwinski and a few friends who love beer. Brian has been brewing beer at home and one night (after a few beers) it was decided a brewery was the most appropriate way to share his love for a quality beer. From there, Blue Blood Brewing Company has grown from an idea to a complete brewery!!!

Blue Blood Brewing Company officially began operations in December 2011 in the new brewery at 500 West South Street.


Blue Blood Brewing Company is a new craft brewery to Lincoln Nebraska. The day to day operations are run by Brian Podwinski with the help and support of family and friends.

All of our wonderful ales will be named with a three or four digit number simply because numbers are easy to remember. Every beer will have a reason it is brewed and a person who inspired the beer. We feel having inspiration for our beer helps us make even better beer!

Blue Blood Brewing Company will not only produce handcrafted ales using only the finest ingredients but work to be a positive influence in our community. It is the local community that supports craft breweries and we will do our best to return the favor!!!

834 - Happy As Ale: A refreshing American Pale Ale with 4.6% Alcohol by Volume and 35 IBUs which has a great citrus flavored finish from the late hop additions. This beer is brewed using hops grown in the United States and right here in Nebraska by Rhynalds Hop Growers in Prague. The name for the beer, Happy As Ale, is because we at Blue Blood Brewing feel everyone needs a bit of happiness in their lives and our beer is an extension of our smiles which we share with anyone who needs one.
