April 2013 - Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Chief Business Office (CBO) Purchased Care Claims Processing (PCCP) Independent Verification and Validation Project (IV&V).
The VHA CBO executed the first option year of this effort. BITS and it teaming Partner Baker Tilly will continue to support The IV&V Project, administered by the VHA, CBO. The BITS Team will provide IV&V services to ensure trace-ability of critical requirements, design analysis of critical algorithms, code analysis of critical software components, as well as program and project management best practices (include scope, costs, schedule, quality, and risk) for CBO Healthcare Claims Processing projects.

January 2013 - Enterprise Architecture - Business Services Interagency Collaboration and Repository (BSICR) - Interagency Architectural Collaboration (IAC)
The Veteran Health Administration (VHA) Office of Informatics and Analytics / Health Informatics /Health Systems made an award to BITS for a multi-award GSA Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide Business Architecture Services to the VA and to support IAC and Business Architecture Repository (BAR) requirements. The objective of the BPA is to mature VA's Business Architecture Service (BA) in three key areas to best support the effective delivery of core healthcare services to the Nation's Veterans, contribute to Federal health agency Information sharing, and support Presidential initiatives such as the DoD/VA integrated Electronic Health Record (iEHR) and the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER).

In addition, to being awarded the BPA, BITS was awarded the first task orders. Under Task Order #1, BITS will support the BA IAC to collaborate with standards groups in support of BA leadership, governance, and balloting, participate in process modeling and information modeling leadership, compare and map identified high-level business needs with health agency/industry standard business IT service taxonomies, and map identified detailed business requirements to health agency/industry standard business services definitions. The duration of the multi-award Blanket Purchase Agreement is five (5) years with a 50 million ceiling. BITS partnered with Systems Made Simple on this BPA.

September 2012 - Program Management Office Quality Control and Program/Project Scheduling Professional Services
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Chief Business Office awarded BITS and teaming partner SMS a GSA IT 70 contract to provide PMO Quality Control and Program/Project Scheduling support. The VHA CBO Purchased Care Business Line (PCBL) has management programmatic oversight responsibilities for multiple complex programs and projects. In addition to the Fee Program, the PCBL covers programs administered by the VHA Health Administration Center (VHA HAC). VHA HAC implements and maintains health care benefit programs and processes health care transactions for a variety of programs administered by VHA. The BITS Team will support the CBO Purchased Care Business Project Management Office providing Quality Control reviews of selected program/ project management processes of selected CBO projects.

December 2011-Department of Veterans Affairs Clinical Informatics Support Contract:
BITS will support efforts in the Health Systems Office through involving clinical informatics in the development of hospital information management systems. BITS will provide support in clinical informatics for developing and driving successful hospital information systems. The purpose of the HS is to work collaboratively with other OI components and VHA Program Offices to develop, implement and monitor comprehensive portfolios of Information Technology (IT) systems in support of healthcare for veterans. This includes the coordination of Information Technology life-cycle management for all VHA IT systems and portfolios. The Office functions as a matrix organization to identify and work through cross cutting issues, and to maximize OI and Program Office resources in support of the IT portfolios of systems. The HS office has five major enterprise portfolios supporting VHA requirements.
