About us
FACTR is a multi-cultural service, research and training center for the benefit of immigrant families experiencing stress in their new environment. The center has an intergenerational focus.
Mission Statement
A catalyst and THE added value for helping stressed newcomer families. A multi-cultural Center for service, research and training.
Purpose
The specific purpose of this corporation is to:
To provide counseling, psycho- educational services and cultural awareness programs for newcomer families and their children that is respectful of ethnic values and diverse views, including State Laws pertaining to Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Educational, Immigration and other areas.
To provide a setting for professionals who work with stressed families in newcomer and other circumstances to gain knowledge and skills to help them be effective in their work.
To develop a knowledge base for dissemination of practices, methods and concepts for use in the broad mental health and Social Services field.
Primary Audience
We have three constituencies:
Immigrant and refugee families.
Professional from fields of Mental Health, Social Work, Law, Education and Education. And Cultural Anthropology.
Non Profit, Corporate and governmental and Medical Facilities (who either serve or employ first generation immigrant families).
Will the fees be charged for the FACTR Training/Consultancy/ individual services?
A nominal fee will be charged based on income.
