When I retired from public education, I wanted to help the economy of my rural Ohio community; and at the same time, help women meet the demands of work & family life. I prayed for guidance and vision. I began thinking: if I could provide beneficial products and meaningful work (women doing something they enjoyed), I could do both. I enjoy sewing and creating innovative ideas. I felt called to create a line of purses and bags that could be customized by the consumer, yet provide great benefits.
Our bags help organize lives & ease physical stress due to a unique design. Materials used are recycled, helping the environment. Materials are animal-friendly, promoting compassion for animals. Seamstresses are located in Ohio factories, promoting jobs for Americans. Materials are purchased in the USA, also keeping jobs in America. Many sewers work from home, which helps them juggle work and family responsibilities.
With 2 sides of the business, Gro2 Bags has 2 avenues for income, production & buying. One side Mass Produces,at a local sewing factory, orders sold at boutiques and gift-shop retailers. Side two Mass Customizes internet orders sold via an interactive website; these bags are customized by local sewers in their homes. The interactive website allows shoppers to create and see their virtual bag online prior to ordering it. All bags are reversible with interchangeable parts. Each one also has an unique Organizer-Insert made to fit only that bag.
