Our Company

Molon Excavating, Inc. was established in 1979 and purchased by the Walton Group in 1998. It has since grown to become a full-scale excavating and site development corporation serving all of Northwest Michigan.

The Walton's have been involved in the contracting industry since the early 1950's, building much of Northwest Michigan's city, state and county road systems. Many of the area shopping centers, malls, airports and private developments have seen the Walton crews at work.

Molon Excavating, Inc. culminates the experience and resources of 4 generations of the Walton Family providing quality service to the greater Grand Traverse area. With some of the best managers, operators, drivers, laborers and "State of the Art" construction equipment and top notch facilities, Molon Excavating, Inc. has positioned itself as a major player in underground utility work, high production earth moving, road building and site development projects.

Molon Excavating offers full service marine and bridge construction. Our team has completed projects all over Northern Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula. From residential sea walls to full service municipality marinas, we have the capacity to meet ALL customer expectations. Whether the job requires sheet piling, stone reventment, dredging, docks or structures, Molon Excavating, Inc. will complete your project on time with the highest quality.

Our crews are also experienced in pile driving and bridge construction. Past projects include pedestrian bridges, box culverts, single span concrete bridges, boardwalks and miscellaneous steel structures. We also install baring piles and steel erection for buildings. Snow Removal


Snow Removal
Northern Michigan is truly a winter wonderland. With an annual snowfall of 150", fast and cost effective snow and ice removal from our streets, stores and hospitals is an important job, both from an economic and safety aspect.

Molon Excavating, Inc. prides itself in its ability to handle even the most severe winter conditions with its fleet of late model, radio dispatched front end loaders fitted with large snow pusher-buckets. Our fleet of semi-tractor/trailer rigs are capable of hauling 35 cubic yards of snow per load. The many pickups with commercial plows and the sander/salt trucks melt the ice away.
