The National Sculpture Society (NSS) promotes excellence in sculpture that is inspired by the natural world. Founded in 1893, the National Sculpture Society was the first organization of professional sculptors formed in the United States. The purpose of the non-profit organization was and is to promote American sculptors, and provide a forum for sculptors to connect with architects, collectors and allied professionals.
The founding members included such well known figures of the day as Daniel Chester French, Augustus St. Gaudens, Richard Morris Hunt. Since its founding in the nineteenth century, the NSS has remained dedicated to promoting figurative and realistic sculpture.
Programs include an annual Sculpture Celebration Conference, a quarterly magazine - Sculpture Review, exhibitions, our electronic news bulletin - SculptureNews, unrestricted grants, scholarships, and competitions.
