Summary of the Oasis DiagnosticsÂ® Technologies

1) DNA-SAL™- this is a device for the collection of saliva and epithelial cells for the sole purpose of extraction of DNA or RNA. The device scrubs cells from the mouth in less than 30 seconds and the collected cells are immersed in a buffer in a separate chamber which causes lysis and preservation of the DNA. The complete device is then sent to a laboratory where the DNA extraction takes place or extracted on the spot. In either case a high quality DNA yield is obtained which is then immediately ready for downstream analysis such as PCR, genotyping, personal genomics, etc.

2) Versi-SALÂ® 1- this is a versatile saliva collection device that collects saliva [from under the tongue in between 1 and 2 minutes] for any application where saliva is required. The device has a unique sample sufficiency indicator, which is triggered once sufficient saliva is collected for analysis. The device provides about 0.5 mL of pure saliva into a standard Eppendorf tube that is then sent to the laboratory for testing. In order to expand the applications for this device we provide a range of immunoassay test kits. This includes kits for drugs of abuse, steroid hormone testing, HIV, IgA, alpha-amylase and others and we work with companies with suitable assays to validate additional assays. We then have the ability to offer these test kits WITH the collection device to provide a one-stop shop for customers.

3) VerOFyÂ®- this is a rapid [enabling] test platform for rapid disease diagnosis from saliva. The Company has partnered with several companies and are now developing tests for several diseases, biomarkers including diabetes, breast cancer, tuberculosis, anthrax immunity and drugs of abuse. These products will not launch until late 2010 through 2012 depending upon the test.

For the VerOFyÂ® device Oasis has existing licensee partners but is interested in identifying additional licensees and development partners to expand our reach in salivary diagnostics.
