PulpWorks' flagship product, the patent-pending "Karta-Pack", is an environmentally-friendly alternative to the plastic blister pack at a competitive price. The Karta-Pack is comprised of two pieces of compostable material - molded pulp and cardboard (from post-consumer waste) - that are connected without adhesives, tape, or staples to create a single package that highlights the salable article nestled securely within a cavity in the molded pulp component.

Each Karta-Pack is custom designed for the customer's retail product. The length/width/depth of the package and the size/shape/nature of the featured object are variable. The package has applications across a broad range of consumer categories including but not limited to cosmetics, personal care, household, office, kitchen, pet, and electronics.

PVC is the world's leading toxic packaging material. It is responsible for 70% of the toxic waste dumped in landfills each year. When burned, PVC forms dioxins linked to cancer and considered harmful to the immune and reproductive systems.

Further, opening these difficult blister packs sends hundreds of thousands of people to emergency rooms annually with lacerations.

The Karta-Pack responds to an urgent and compelling need for safe and improved retail packages that significantly reduce the negative impact on the environment and also provide consumers with enhanced functionality, design and recognized branding features.
