Sarah’s Fantastic Elastic was Sarah’s creative style coming to life. Sarah is the eldest girl in our family of six children. She has served well as the oldest sister for 18 years now. In 2011, Sarah gained a stepfather, Steve and two brothers, Parker and Garrett. So now, we are like the modern Brady Bunch, 3 girls (Sarah 18, Mary Catherine 16 and Anna 14) and 3 boys (Parker 20, Garrett 17 and John Robert 11). A mom (Jennifer, me), a step dad (Steve) and grandma (Mary) completes the Anderson package. Of course, we have many more relatives that have been continuously supportive, like my father (Bob) who I go to for advice and consultation regarding business. But anyway, back to the story. Sarah has always been a “what can I do to make money” type young lady and this year was no different. She was running one of my Christmas Gift Wrapping Stations, and after seeing the hair ties sometime in October of 2011, she decided to make her own. And she did. She sold hair ties so that she would have money in her savings account for college. She enjoyed it so much that she continued to sell her craftsmanship for fun. Realizing this was not just a fad that was going away in a couple of months, she wanted to expand the business to custom items and more fun designs.
