S & S Metal and Plastics was founded by Garland and Bobby Strickland in 1960 in their 2-car garage with Garland the oldest of 4 siblings and Bobby the youngest. Their family moved to Jacksonville, Florida, from North Carolina in the 1930s. At 17, Garland was employed by Miller Electric Company and then enlisted into the United States Army during World War ll. After his return from the war, he returned to Miller for 21 years. At 17, Bobby was employed by Jacksonville Shipyards for 20 years.



S&S Metal and Plastics, Inc. is a second generation family owned company that originated in 1960. Our Mission is to build on our history of product excellence and to provide a wide range of custom manufactured products and solutions for our world-wide customers in the industrial, commercial, marine and residential industries.
