Jonathan Pickett and his wife Mardi Pickett are the owners of Tailwater Marine & Tackle. They have been married for nine years and have a 3 year old son named Ethan.

Jonathan and Mardi decided to pursue their dream of business ownership in 2008 after realizing the need for an honest, dedicated, and reliable marine dealership and service center in the Clarksville and surrounding Montgomery County area.

After lots of hard work and sleepless nights, they finally made that dream a reality in February 2012.



Jonathan Pickett and his family moved to Clarksville in 1986. He is the son of David Pickett and Rosemary Griggs. Jonathan is a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Prior to graduating from college Jonathan spent seven years serving in the U.S. Coast Guard performing search & rescue and law enforcement operations throughout the Great Lakes and Western Rivers. During his time in the Coast Guard he served on the Coast Guard cutter Cimarron out of Paris Landing Tennessee as well as Station Michigan City. Some of his duties included: 47’ Motor Life Boat Coxswain, Response Boat Tactical Coxswain, Federal Boarding Officer, Ice Rescue Team Leader, and EMT.

Jonathan is a licensed Captain as well as an avid fisherman and hunter, and he loves spending time on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. Stop in and see him and he will put you on the fish!
