Company Summary

Newspaper publishing and general commercial printing services. Our buiness is a family owned operation for over 100 years, and then in the relative family for an additional 20 years. At present it is a father / son operation only. No other full time employees. The business is housed on Main Street in Leon, Iowa in two buildings. Every step of the paper is created in house except for printing of the paper. The Leon Journal-Reporter is a co-owner with three other newspapers in a printing plant located just 15 miles away outside of Lamoni, Iowa. The paper is a partnership between father and son. The son is the fourth generation. We still address our full subscription paper in-house with an addressograph machine as this is the most efficient. All other work is completed by computer. We also shoot our own negatives and prepare them for plate-ready printing. We have a single-sheet fed 11 x 17 offset press by which we do 98 percent of our commercial printing. We also feature a color copier.
