Janice Brown
Executive Director

Janice Brown has been passionately devoted to social change and empowering lives for over thirty years.

Her sojourn into community outreach was birthed in the halls of the University of Technology, embedded in the island of Jamaica, where she received a diploma in education. From there she received her bachelors and masters in education from the City University of New York.

She utilized her knowledge and embraced her passions crafting nubile minds in the New York Public school system.

Spurred to action by familial ties and a wealth of administrative experience she founded Wakefield Cottage with the goal of impacting the lives of the developmentally disabled through avant-garde techniques.
